Romans

R?merRomans are one of the three tribes and they are usually the second most popular tribe (30-40% players of each server are usually Romans). They are very balanced and are strong in both attack and defense. Roman troops are considered the elite of the game in which every individual is strong (similar to Protoss in Starcraft). Therefore, the Roman army is high in quality but low in quantity and consumes much less crop than other tribes' armies. However, to compensate for that, most Roman troops take a long time to train and it's expensive. Their infantry includes the strongest defenders against enemy infantry (Praetorian), but their defense against enemy cavalry isn't as good as that of the best Teuton infantry (Spearmen) .

Gallier Gauls are the most peaceful of all three tribes. Their troops are excellent for players with a defensive style of play, and the Gallic cavalry (including merchants) are the fastest units in the game.

Gauls are excellent at defending, but an aggressive tactic is possible, too. It gives you the opportunity to develop into any possible strategic direction (defensive or aggressive, lone wolf or reliable helper, merchant or plunderer, infantry or cavalry, settler or conqueror).
